A Few Facts About the Titanic

• The ship was built to hold 64 lifeboats but was only holding 20. Each lifeboat could hold 65 people but the first one that launched was only holding 28.
• There were 2,222 people on board, passengers and crew; only 31.6% survived; 53.4% could've lived if the lifeboats had been fully filled
• The Titanic currently rests at 12,600 feet
• There were 6 iceberg warnings before the collision
• It took 2 hours and 40 minutes for the Titanic to sink
• 20 people canceled their trip after dreaming the Titanic would sink
• Fourteen years before the sinking of the Titanic, Morgan Robertson wrote a novel called 'Futility'. In her book, an ocean liner named Titan strikes an iceberg on her maiden voyage
